I joined Old Friends Care in 2004 as a carer, with no experince working in the care industry before and found my new role to be very rewarding & enjoyable. With the tremendous support and encouragement I received my confidence grew & I was promoted to Team Leader, Supervisor & Manager.

My role is to support Service Users so that they can enjoy the best quality of life possible in the comfort of their own homes. I have Compassion, Good Communication and Organisational Skills together with a calm and caring manner which are vital for this important role in our company.

I develop and supervise a team of care workers to provide high quality care that is safe, effective and responsive to each customers needs and preferences. I support each customer to live their life the way that they choose as far as they are able. Its important to respect customers' choices and to promote their dignity and privacy at all times. 

I enjoy my role as the principal Training Officer for the company. I pride myself on delivering relevant, bespoke learning for my colleagues and providing enhanced assistance for new recruits through the New Team Support programme.

I deliver the Care Certificate induction training course. this is based on the standards set by Health Education England, skills for care & Skills for health.

I assess and supervise the staff on their performance and to ensure they are competent to work safely in the community following policies and procedures.

I design and deliver interactive training days, to refresh the mandatory training requirements for all the care workers

I have worked for Old Friends Care since October 2010. As a carer with four years experience I wanted to develop in my chosen profession and to have a challenge in my life. I became a Team Leader in April 2014 where I managed my own team of carers. In addition, I managed the out of hours On Call service and worked in the office dealing with day to day enquires. I also worked in the community supporting new and existing staff.

I have recently been promoted to Deputy Manager. As deputy manager I manage the community support officers and help oversee the day-to-day running of the company. I will also be working with new carers to ensure that they maintain the high standards of care that Old Friends Care are known for.

I am the first person that you will meet (at your home) if you contact us to discuss the services that we offer. Experience has taught me how important it is to take the time to listen to people. It is vitally important that we discuss everything in detail - with the emphasis being to respect "YOUR" choices & to get everything correct from outset.

As an allocator, I am responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient operation by allocating the carers visits. I have to be well organised, have excellent communication skills and be customer focused. 

I build and maintain excellent professional relationships with my colleagues and service users. 

My job role involves managing staff rotas and ensuring service users receive continuity of care and support, by regularly assigning the right carers to our service users. Its important I inform the care staff and service users of any changes as they occur, ensuring a smooth delivery of care.

I ensure all care packages are supported out of Office Hours. I am passionate about providing the best in community care and I take pride in building relationships with the Service Users and Care Workers.

I promote and maintain positive community relations while efficiently and professionally responding to questions, issues, inquiries and complaints.

I have worked many years in the care industry, where I have developed leadership skills from my exerpeience. I have strong oral and written communication skills and provide direction, instructions and guidance to the care workers.

I motivate and assess the carers and update management on their performance. I promote and maintain positive community relations while efficiently and professionally responding to questions, inquiries and complaints.
